Week beginning Monday, February 24

ICAI C2.1: 

What we did in class on Monday: We finished the error-correction activity (here is the key) + we watched the first 30 minutes of this video on unconscious bias.

Homework for Thursday: Review the vocabulary of the activity on Apple's corporate misbehaviour

What we did in class on Thursday: Error-correction activity + we read the rest of the article on corporate misbehaviour (here) and completed the activity.

Homework for Tuesday, March 3: LEARN all the vocabulary contained in the Amazon and Apple (corporate misbehaviour) activities . Start thinking about a possible eco-friendly company (or label!) you would like to do your presentation on. Examples: Patagonia, Ecoalf, Ecophonic, Fairphone, Ecolabel

Next book club session: Tuesday, March 10 (50% of the book)

We decided to set up a book club for the remainder of the semester. The book we chose is "Shoe dog" by Phil Knight.

Buy the book in question (paper or pdf version) and read the first 100 pages then fill out the following template (make sure you include all the words you looked up in the dictionary or at least the ones you liked most in the "what" or "so what" section). This replaces the Press Review activity from now on. Next session: Tuesday, March 10


In class: after thoroughly discussing the contents of the reading sheets each group will write a review on the 100 pages in question and hand it in.

Homework for Friday, February 14:  Review everything we've covered so far (Module 1), there'll be a test. Here is a quizlet with the vocabulary we covered in the "Meat Makers" activity for example, it would probably be a good idea to enhance it with the vocabulary from the whole module.
