Welcome everybody, this is your class blog for this year!

There'll be one entry per week, although it will be updated daily, and you just have to scroll down to your group to find out what we've done in class (which means there's no need to email me if -exceptionally- you were unable to attend a class) along with the homework to be done for the next class (i.e. there is no longer any excuse for not doing your homework ;)

The novel: Gain by Richard Powers has to be read by the end of January 2015. There'll be a quizz and an essay related to the book and the total mark will account for 40% of the second semester's continuous assessment.

Do women need help from other people on their way to the top ?

Where is the interviewee now working?

What is her position / piece of advice on the so-called glass ceiling for women in Fortune 500 companies ?

Which point from the article "The mommy track" did she fail to mention?

Note: A General Counsel is the Chief Legal Officer of a company.

Do you agree with his views on Generation Y? Why/Why not?
Identify an interesting synonym for hierarchy (it was also in today's text on company structure)
How is Google's hierarchy -or lack thereof- described?
When and where is a well-structured hierarchy relevant according to the author and when is it counter-productive?
